Having just finished emptying out a deceased friend’s house, I am determined to be more circumspect about what I keep, but faith is non-negotiable!

I think I'm doing okay and knowing our kids don't want most of our "stuff". Our son is the most sentimental about family so I hope most of what is saved is stories and examples.

Debby this is absolutely stunning. Every single line. I'm off to savor another read. Thank you for this morning's gift of grace and truth, friend.

Thank you, Linda. I'm trying to listen to my heart and write that. Of course, sometimes the heart speaks a little louder. ♡

Oh, I remember that - "Keep the Faith" . I've kept it and passed it on and keep passing it on. But I'm also a keeper of those moments, thought reflections, those inklings of hope - Oh, I am a believer who sings of my faith on the empty pages that I yearn to fill. Your words are tender heartbeats that carry me to my own precious faith keeping venture. God bless you, friend.

I am the keeper too - there is something lovely about being connected to the legacy of family and loved ones before us. I feel like they were such a part of me and I don’t want to forget about all they inspired in me. I hope someone will be the keeper of what I leave behind, especially faith to pass on! Great post.

This was beautiful and a tiny bit painful. I keep some things. In the past year or so I've been giving things that once mattered to my youngers for their birthdays. I include a letter explaining why it once mattered. Then there is tne thing that sits on a high shelf in the basement. It's an old 8 track player. I keep it because I have several recordings of my father's voice talking with my kids when they were so young. I have no idea it I could get it to work now but it doesn't matter, I keep it anyway.

Including a letter of explanation is a great idea. And I love you still have an 8 track player! I remember my dad playing 8 tracks in his VW. Good times :)
